The DSM Nutritional Products Premix plant at 616 Dayton Avenue, Ames, IA will host an open house on Thursday, September 19, 2013 beginning at 10:00 am.  The program, which includes lunch, will feature speakers on current animal nutrition topics as well as tours of the facility’s new packaging unit, control room/charging area and warehouse.

The day will start with a series of presentations by DSM Nutritional Products staff members focusing on industry innovation, vitamin product forms, premix technology and the Food Safety & Modernization Act.

Plant tours will begin after lunch. Participants will have the opportunity to view new, state-of- the-art packaging equipment which offers customers a variety of premix packaging options including low density linear polyethylene (LDPE) bags.  “Our new Ames packaging equipment comes to us from Concetti Group, world leaders in bulk product packaging.  Concetti partnered with us to develop a flexible system that could accommodate our new polyethylene premix bags as well as more traditional kraft packaging,” notes Marc de Beer, Ph.D., vice president, DSM Animal Nutrition & Health, North American area.  “Our new bag option is 100% recyclable and dimpled to prevent slippage during handling.”  People attending the open house will observe the equipment operating, view the bag filling process and see the automatic palletizer.

To register for the program please contact your DSM Nutritional Products Account Manager or email Dawn.Bracy@dsm.com
