USU Trustees Vote To Drop Dairy Herdsman Program
LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A plan to discontinue Utah State University's dairy herdsman program has moved a step closer to reality.


Oregon Dairy Closure Worries Other Farmers
SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The planned closure of an Oregon dairy that has been in business for more than half a century has added to the worries about low milk prices and skyrocketing costs affecting other farmers.


La Nina Heightens Fears Of Poor Kansas Wheat Crop
Analysts at Australia & New Zealand Bank have hardened their forecast that Kansas-traded wheat risks becoming a market "flashpoint", according to AgriMoney.com. The bank warned that the La Niña weather pattern has increased the chances of a poor crop this year.


Food Trends For 2011
Forecasting trends in the food industry can be just as precarious as predicting the weather as consumers’ tastes can change on a dime. However, Phil Lempert, known as the SuperMarket Guru, works closely with ConAgra to forecast food trends. For 2011 he expects six trends to emerge.

USDA Farm Service Agency Administrator Jonathan Coppess said the agency has published a final rule intended to strengthen payment integrity and eliminate waste and abuse.
