Workshops aimed at helping Wisconsin dairy producers
The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin is sponsoring a pair of workshops to help dairy farmers keep their cows healthy.
One so-called Cow-Management Workshop will be Sept. 13 in Marshfield. The other will be the following day in Arlington.

NMPF Summer Foundation for the Future meetings scheduled
The Summer Grassroots Tour, hosted by the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), kicks off July 12 in Olympia, Washington. The meetings run through August and will bring together dairy producers and other key industry representatives to discuss dairy policy reform programs proposed in NMPF’s Foundation for the Future.

May 2 workshop tackles ammonia, nitrogen
This year's Ohio State University agricultural air quality workshop will focus on the challenges and opportunities facing livestock and poultry producers when it comes to ammonia emissions and their connection with nitrogen fertilizer. It will take place Monday, May 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center in Columbus, Ohio.

New Horizons for Conservation Cropping in California Conferences set for March 9-11

AgStar Conference slated for May
Registration is now open for the Sixth AgSTAR National Conference taking place in Boise, Idaho May 11-12, 2011. The conference will include technical presentations on a variety of topics related to anaerobic digestion, expanded networking events, and an exhibit hall. Also planned is a tour of local anaerobic digestion systems that will take place on Tuesday, May 10th.

March workshops to give producers an edge in buying and selling
New York State Acting Agriculture Commissioner Darrel J. Aubertine today announced a continuation of workshops designed to help dairy farmers maintain profitability in an uncertain market environment. Managing the Margin workshops teach dairy producers effective risk management strategies they can use to anticipate and manage price risks for both milk and feed. Seven workshops will be offered throughout the State in the month of March.
