The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin is sponsoring a pair of workshops to help dairy farmers keep their cows healthy.

One so-called Cow-Management Workshop will be Sept. 13 in Marshfield. The other will be the following day in Arlington.

Each session will feature instruction on how to retrofit old barns and build new facilities to maximize cow productivity while keeping costs down. Instructors will also discuss how to treat mastitis, an inflammation of the udder.

Organizers say the workshops will help dairy producers keep their herds healthy and their facilities safer.
