On Friday, Oct. 30, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty and Agriculture Commissioner Gene Hugoson joined Minnesota Farmers Helping Families, a coalition of state agriculture commodity groups, in announcing a donation of $115,000 in pork and dairy products to Hunger Solutions Minnesota, a state partnership of organizations fighting hunger.

This donation equates to 36,000 pounds of cheese and 85,000 pounds of pork, or about 350,000 individual food portions.

This donated food will help the one in 14 Minnesotans who rely upon local food shelves to help feed their families.
