Will Gilmer, known in dairy circles for his savvy use of social media, posted a YouTube video in September 2009 lamenting low milk prices.

A couple of years have passed and now the video is popping up again on Facebook, as milk prices seem headed south.

“They’re paying me less than a buck per gallon, while the store’s got it for $3.50 a jug.

“I’m running out of time and hope.

“I need a hug.

“I’ve got the blues, the ‘ain’t getting paid enough for my milk’ blues,” Gilmer sings in a melancholy tone.

The Alabama dairy farmer goes to great lengths to educate the consuming public about dairy farming.

Toward the end of the video, he tells his audience that they can support America’s dairy farm families by buying milk, cheese and other dairy products.

3.50 a gallon in the store and a dallor to the producer, looks lik the middle man is making money and always will. This milk market and pricing system is a scam, when are the dairy farmers going to figure it out. You are working hard long hours and going without the things other people have because they tell you it's a way of life? Making someone else a good living your CO-OP people and making the processor extreem profits is not a way of life, it's called getting screwed. WAKE UP!
