The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin (PDPW) is hosting calf care workshops and farm tours next week in two locations in Wisconsin.

The Calf Care Connection Workshops combine classroom science with tours that demonstrate practical, on-farm application. At each location, Becky Brotzman, veterinarian with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will present, “Healthy Environments for Healthy Calves.” After lunch, tours depart for area farms to view calf facilities and discuss care and feeding techniques with the calf managers of those farms.

The workshops will be offered in two locations:

Tuesday, November 13 - Workshop begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn–Campus Area, 2703 Craig Road, Eau Claire, Wis. Afternoon tours visit Hamlin Valley Farms in Strum, Wis., and Arrowhead Farms in Chippewa Falls, Wis. The bus returns to the Holiday Inn by 4:15 p.m.

Wednesday, November 14 - Workshop begins at 9:30 a.m. at Millhome Supper Club, 16524 Lax Chapel Road, Kiel, Wis. Afternoon tours visit Hanke Farms, Sheboygan Falls, Wis., and Hochkammer Dairy Farm, Manitowoc, Wis. The bus returns to the supper club by 4:15 p.m.
