More hurdles ahead for proposed Wis. dairy

Hurdle A proposed 5,300-animal, 7,000-acre dairy overcame a major legal hurdle on Thursday, but more challenges remain.

A judge ruled in favor of the Wysocki Family of Cos., who plan to build the Golden Sands Dairy in Saratoga, Wis. According to the Marshfield News Herald, the city’s leaders opposed the plan and initially refused to issue building permits.

After the ruling, the Saratoga building inspector has been ordered to issue permits for the dairy.

There are other potential challenges ahead, including the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ approval process.

City leaders aren’t the only ones expressing concern. The Associated Press reports that in March, nearly 250 people expressed concern about the dairy potentially compromising the quality and quantity of the Saratoga water supply. Read more.

Then when they do not make enough money, NMPF will need to get involved and shove supply management down all of our throats. Oh, and a bigger Soviet farm bill to ensure this hedged monstrosity can stay in business.
