A new web site is uniting the dairy industry with consumers.
The site, www.DairyGood.org, tells what the dairy industry is doing to promote healthy people, healthy communities and a healthy planet.
It reinforces the dairy industry's role in a safe, affordable and abundant food supply, says David Pelzer, senior vice president of industry image and relations for Dairy Management Inc., which manages the national dairy checkoff program.
The site also includes personal accounts of dairy producers, especially as they have endured the worst drought in decades. The drought’s impact on dairies, Pelzer said, has been under-reported by the media and under-appreciated by consumers.
