Natural Products Marketplace reports a recent study by Market Force Information reveals milk is the most popular private-label product.

In the March survey of 6,100 participants, 81 percent purchase private-label milk to save money. The survey showed 84 percent of shoppers know their store sells private-label milk, 20 percent of that group buys private label all of the time. Another 45 percent purchase the store brand some of the time and only four percent never purchase private-label milk.

Only seven percent of the participants said taste was a factor in purchasing milk, but the same group of participants was more concerned with taste in other store products.

Taste was the driving factor to purchase snacks and cereals. The study found 29 percent don’t purchase store-brand cereal and 20 percent never purchase store-brand snacks due to taste.
