A new mindset: Dairy benefits weight loss

“If everyone got adequate dietary calcium — three to four servings a day — while controlling calories, Americans could lose an average of 15 pounds.” That’s a key message that Robert Heaney, professor of medicine at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., told the Los Angeles Times for an article on dairy and weight loss.

In fact, Heaney has reviewed much of the research that has been done on the connection between calcium from dairy products and weight loss and in his opinion, the more you look, the more the evidence supports the connection.
