ABS is offering summer internship positions in the Progeny Promotions and Technical Services areas.
The Progeny Promotions department at ABS is responsible for ensuring the progeny of ABS dairy bulls are tracked, located and evaluated for picturing opportunities, as well as Daughter Tours. As the Progeny Promotions Intern, the successful candidate will seek out and evaluate daughters for both picturing and tour purposes. The position includes traveling throughout the U.S. assisting with locating young sire daughters. Upon location of daughters, the Intern will coordinate photo sessions and cattle preparations.
Qualified candidates will be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Dairy Science or related field. Collegiate Judging Team and cattle fitting experience are required. A commitment to the dairy industry demonstrated through strong involvement in industry-related organizations or clubs is preferred. This internship requires extensive travel, a high level of enthusiasm, self-motivation, excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work independently.
The Technical Service Department provides product and service support to ABS Reproductive Management Program (RMS) and Quality Milk System (QMS®) Programs. The Technical Service Summer Intern will assist in retaining current RMS dairies. This intern will also work with ABS udder care products and services associated with the QMS Program. Furthermore, this intern will work with the Marketing department on updating our product/service materials.
Applicants for this internship should be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Dairy Science or a related field. Technical experience with field trials and product/service marketing are very beneficial. Commitment to the dairy industry demonstrated through strong involvement in industry-related organizations or clubs is preferred. This internship candidate must be self-motivated along with having excellent organizational and communication skills and be willing to travel.
