The activist group Food & Water Watch wants Starbucks to stop buying milk from cows treated with bovine somatotropin. And the group is reaching out to customers of the coffee giant for help.
Since Starbucks promotes itself as being socially-responsible, the group chose to target Starbucks because if they can get Starbucks to change they believe others will follow.
The campaign against Starbucks coincides with the release of “Meatrix II: Revolting”. The online animated video targets the dairy industry this time. Promoted to reveal the “ugly truth behind factory dairy farms,” the movie was produced by Sustainable Table, another activist group. The first online video called “The Meatrix” targeted the pork and poultry industries.
