If you want to better understand world agricultural markets and associated risk management strategies, check out this two-day workshop scheduled for Jan. 25-26 at the Illini Center in Chicago, Ill. The workshop, sponsored by the University of Illinois, will provide an in-depth update on the latest trends in the world agricultural marketplace, grain flow, transportation, regulation, hedging, basis trading, spreads, market reports and options.
The workshop explains the agricultural marketing system, including production, transportation, processing, and risk management. “We analyze market reports and create hedging plans using futures and options. Whether you are a trader looking to understand the fundamentals, or a professional in any area of agriculture, financing, education, or government regulation, the workshop will provide you with a useful overview and insight into agricultural markets," says Eugene Kunda, University of Illinois agricultural economist and workshop instructor.
The workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Cost for the full two-day workshop is $650, and includes all materials, as well as a session at the Chicago Board of Trade to observe trading and the daily closing of the agricultural futures and option markets.
