An up-close look at dairy farming

The business editor for the Lodi News-Sentinel recently spent part of a day working on Kaehler Dairy in Lodi, Calif.

Jordan Guinn’s experience included feeding and watering calves, moving alfalfa, feeding cows and milking.

Guinn notes that work on a dairy farm is more rigorous than he expected. “I didn't go in expecting a cakewalk, but I absolutely underestimated all the aspects of raising cows for milk production.”
