The kick-off cull cow fundraiser, to support the Cal Poly dairy farm, has been deemed a huge success. The fundraiser held on Dec. 1, 2009 at the Tulare Sales Yard, brought in over 95-head of cattle. Additionally, more than 80 donors have also contributed cash, cattle, feed and hauling to-date.

Cull cow fundraiser Chair, Joey Fernandes, stated, "This was just the kick-off, the drive is ongoing until we hopefully meet or exceed our goal." Donations of cull cows or cash can still be made through any auction yard with the checks made payable to: Tulare Sales Yard/Cal Poly Dairy; 4013 South "K" Street, Tulare, CA93274.

Fernandes went on to say, "Hopefully with everyone's effort we can heal the hardship and develop a sustainable plan to make the Cal Poly dairy thrive."

Many thanks are extended to all of those who participated in the kick-off fundraiser and made donations.
