California cheese takes a bow at Academy Awards

Award-winning cheeses were included in the official “goodie bags” handed out to presenters and nominees at the Academy Awards last night. Each bag contained a very special gift certificate for an evening of American artisanal cheese tasting accompanied by California wines. 

Prominent among the cheeses will be a selection crafted on Fiscalini Farmstead in California’s San Joaquin Valley:  all have won national and international honors with top of the line Bandage Wrapped Cheddar, aged 18 – 30 months, and San Joaquin Gold, their American Original, gold medal winners at London’s prestigious World Cheese Awards judging.
