The Canadian government announced yesterday that it will provide federal funding to help the country’s dairy genetics industry boost international sales.

According to a report in Better Farming, The Canadian Livestock Genetics Association will use the funds for a variety of targeted international market development initiatives to increase the volume and value of dairy cattle embryo and semen exports and raise awareness of Canada’s genetic programs.

The key target markets include Europe, China and Southeast Asia. While still considered an important market, the U.S. dairy industry is not part of this initiative.
