According to a report by meatingplace.com, the CBS Evening News plans to air a story on antibiotic use in livestock and poultry production next week. The segment originally scheduled for this week was postponed until next week due to the coverage of the Haiti crisis.

CBS anchor Katie Couric visited a free-range and antibiotic-free turkey farm in Tamaqua, Pa. According to meatingplace.com, the segment is also expected to include footage of a New Jersey producer of antibiotic-free, ready-to-eat foods including deli meats, bacon and hot dogs. CBS News also researched the story in Missouri, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and Denmark.

The segment is expected to focus on antibiotic use in pork and poultry production.
