Class III falls $2.29

Milk prices fell further in February, with losses topping $2 for the Class III price.

According to the USDA’s announcement of Class Prices on Feb. 29, the February Class III price is $17.03. That is a loss of $2.29 versus January. However, it is still $2.85 higher than a year ago when it was $14.18.

The February Class IV price also fell, though not as steeply as January’s decline of $2.89. It was announced at $14.67. That is $1.62 less than January, and only $1.96 higher than a year ago when it was $12.71.

The February Class II price fell $1.29 — to $18.46. That is $5.38 higher than a year ago when it was $13.08.
