The chairman of the House Agriculture Committee raised the possibility Wednesday of dairy farmers receiving part of the $787 billion stimulus package passed by Congress last February. 

“The committee is looking into whether we can get some of this stimulus money and how it would  be used,” Rep. Collin Peterson, D.-Minn., is quoted by the Rochester (N.Y.) Democrat and Chronicle.

Peterson met with farmers Wednesday in Canandaigua,  N.Y., where he made the comment.
