The Cooperatives Working Together announced this week that it has accepted four more bids for export assistance – two for butter and two for cheddar cheese. Details of the bids include:

  • California Dairies Inc. of Artesia, Calif., will export 300 metric tons (660,000 pounds) of butter to Honduras.
  • Dairy Farmers of America of Kansas City, Mo, will export 19.3 metric tons (42,500 pounds) of cheddar cheese to Trinidad, British West Indies
  • Land O’Lakes Inc., of Arden Hills, Minn, will export 150 metric tons (330,000 pounds) of butter to Israel
  • Dairy Farmers of America of Kansas City, Mo, will export 140 metric tons (308,500 pounds) of cheddar cheese to India.

CWT will pay an export bonus to each bidder, once completion of the shipments is verified.

Through CWT’s Export Assistance program, exports occur as overseas buyers are found for the products, and as CWT’s members bid to be compensated for selling cheese and butter to those importers.
