Eighteen dairies from nine states were honored for their reproductive excellence by the Dairy Cattle Reproduction Council at its recent regional meetings in St. Paul, Minn., and Boise, Idaho.

The objective of the reproduction awards is to recognize those farms doing a good job with reproduction and to provide a forum to learn from winners’ success, say organization officials. Dairies had to be nominated by a third party for consideration. Dairies also had to submit herd reproductive records for in-depth analysis.

More than 50 dairies were nominated for the inaugural awards this year; the DCRC awards committee whittled that list to 18 finalists representing nine states.
