Mark your calendar and get ready to learn the latest information on dairy calf and heifer raising at five regional Dairy Calf & Heifer Profit Seminars set for June.

Dairy producers, calf and heifer growers and dairy beef raisers should attend. The one-day seminars are sponsored by the Dairy Calf & Heifer Association (DCHA) in partnership with allied industry.

Featured speakers include Jon Robison of University of California-Davis and Sam Barringer of Pfizer Animal Health, at the first three locations. Robinson will discuss transitioning calves and heifer growth; Barringer is a nationally recognized expert in calf ranch veterinary medicine. Tom Fuhrmann, a dairy cattle veterinarian, and Al Kertz, of ANDHIL, noted authority on dairy nutrition, will speak at the Clovis and Dalhart meetings. In addition, a speaker from the Dairy Beef Quality Assurance Program will address the programs’ benefits and funding sources.

On site registration for each meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. The seminars will adjourn by 3:45 p.m. Registration is $95 for DCHA members and $125 for non-members. DCHA members who pre-register may bring a guest for free.
