Validus Services, LLC and Dairy Herd Management magazine have teamed up to offer online education courses to owners and managers of dairy operations.

The new Dairy Herd Management Learning Center offers dairy managers and their employees a way to learn the best management practices 24/7 via the Internet.

The first course, Identifying At-risk Cows: Taking Control of When Cows Leave was developed in conjunction with two articles appearing in the November issue of Dairy Herd Management: “Keep More Cows” and “How to Identify At-risk Cows.”

The course features Dr. David Rhoda, veterinarian in Evansville, Wis. and Dr. Michael Hutjens, dairy nutritionist at the University of Illinois. Through a set of six video presentations and resources, dairy producers can learn how to increase profits through better milk production, reduce health events and improve performance. Dairy producers can take the course by going to  www.aglearning.com/dairyherd Or by using the Online Training Center link on the front page of the Dairy Herd Management web site.
