Dairy Company Settles Vermont Antitrust Lawsuit
MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — A national dairy processor says it is going to pay $30 million to settle a class action lawsuit filed by dairy farmers from Vermont and other northeastern states charging the company violated federal antitrust laws.

The news of the settlement between Dean Foods and the farmers was contained in a Thursday filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Farmers Union Members Speak On USDA/ DOJ Panel About Price Discrepancies
WASHINGTON – Farmers Union members Eunice Biel and Allen Lund participated in the fifth and final joint workshop hosted by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Department of Justice (DOJ). The workshop focused on discrepancies between the prices farmers receive and the prices consumers pay.
