A new historical documentary about the Dairy Herd Improvement Associations in the United States is now available. “DHIA in American — a Foundation for Progress” delves into the status of the dairy industry at the turn of the century leading to the development of Cow Testing Associations, or DHIA as it is known today.

The 35-minute DVD captures the 100-year history of cow testing in America, says Ted Ferris, Michigan State University animal science professor and extension dairy specialist. Ferris produced the project.

The DVD can be purchased for $35, $27 of which is tax deductible.
