The fall-out from Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm’s proclamation earlier this week to make Saturday, March 20 “Michigan Meatout Day” continues.
For example, Michigan’s Senate passed a resolution yesterday calling on her to rescind the action.
However, it’s become evident that the governor may have signed the proclamation without fully understanding the motives of those who sent it to her office.
“I’m pretty sure that when the governor issued her “Michigan Meatout Day” proclamation she didn’t realize she was becoming part of a campaign by Farm Animal Rights Movement,” says Lansing State Journal columnist John Schneider.
FARM is a Washington, D.C.-based group that promotes a vegan lifestyle.
Meanwhile, Granholm has also issued another proclamation commemorating Saturday as Michigan Agriculture Day.
