To help food manufacturers respond to the FDA’s new labeling rules for trans fatty acids, Dairy Management Inc, has launched an online resource for their use.

Located at, the Web site allows food manufacturers to access DMI’s expertise to learn how they can use dairy ingredients to reformulate foods with lower levels of trans fatty acids. Dairy products are naturally low in trans fat and naturally high in taste, nutrition and functionality.

Under the new FDA rules any food product that contains more than 0.5 grams per serving of trans fat must say so on the label. The new rules take effect January 1, 2006.
