Energy grants available

USDA has announced $23 million in grants for renewable energy projects in agriculture. The grants are available to farmers, ranchers and small rural businesses that want to develop renewable energy systems and to make energy efficiency improvements.

Last year 114 projects in 24 states received $21.7 million in grant money. Some of the projects included anaerobic digesters, wind power, solar power and ethanol energy systems.
