The Family Dairies USA 38th Annual Member Meeting will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Convention Center, Stevens Point, Wis.

More than 200 dairy farm delegates will elect members to various terms on the board of directors and act on Family Dairies USA’s 2010 policy resolutions and other matters.

Pre-meeting tours to Gordondale and Sandy Valley Farms are scheduled for Friday afternoon, Feb. 12, followed by an “Early Bird” session and concluding with an awards banquet held Friday evening to recognize outstanding contributions made by individuals in the dairy industry. 

The early bird presentation schedule is as follows:

  • Feb.12, 5 p.m.: Brian Gould, associate professor University of Wisconsin - Madison, speaking about dairy price risk and management tools.
  • Feb. 13, 7 a.m.: Pete Hardin, editor of the “Milkweed”, speaking about dairy farm families' biggest challenges.
  • Feb. 13, 8 a.m.: Paul Scharfman, president, Specialty Cheese Company, speaking about finding a niche in the world of cheese.

The business session of the annual meeting, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb.13 is open to all Family Dairies USA members.
