A western Wisconsin dairy could be fined $7,200 for safety violations in the wake of a worker’s death last fall.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced Monday that it has cited Val-O-Mo Farm in Elmwood, Wis., for six serious and one other-than-serious violations of federal workplace safety standards.

OSHA began its investigation last fall following the drowning of a migrant farmhand who worked and lived at the farm, according to the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram.

Proposed penalties total $7,200.
