Farm safety grants available

Farm Safety 4 Just Kids is now accepting applications for its Farm Family Safety Incentive Grants.

Ten people will be awarded up to $250 to make safety improvements to their farms. Previously funded projects include:

• Fencing to create safe play areas.
• Equipping trucks and machinery with fire extinguishers.
• Purchasing safety cabinets to store animal medications and syringes.

If you are interested in applying, submit a one-page funding request to Shari Burgus, education director at Farm Safety 4 Just Kids at Shari@fs4jk.org

Farm Safety 4 Just Kids asks that applicants outline their safety improvement plan, estimated budget and describe how others would benefit from the project.

The deadline to apply is Sept. 1.
