A Wisconsin dairy farmer says he will keep his raw-milk business open, despite attempts by state authorities to shut it down.
Vernon Hershberger, of Loganville, Wis., says the business is his only source of income and that he does not need a license because his store is not open to the public. He says about 100 families buy his unpasteurized products, including milk.
On June 2, group of state inspectors and sheriff's deputies showed up at Hershberger's farm to search the property. They reportedly gave Hershberger a warrant for not having a license.
Recently, Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle vetoed a bill that would have legalized raw-milk sales,
