Congress will be working on food safety legislation when it returns from its recess next week, with the Senate’s version of the bill expected to pass with bipartisan support.

But that doesn’t mean everyone is on-board with the bill. According to a recent report in the Wall Street Journal, small farmers worry the measure's fees and inspection requirements would be ruinously expensive and are pushing for exemptions.

There is also talk that these regulations could put a serious dent in the push for locally produced foods.
