Sales on Fonterra’s internet-based trading platform, globalDairyTrade, have reached $1 billion since its launch in July 2008.

With the recent addition of anhydrous milk fat, and skim milk powder that began earlier this year, Fonterra’s annual sales on the platform will exceed 400,000 metric tons of product, or around 20 percent of Fonterra’s 2008-2009 production, according to a report by Food Ingredients First.
