In celebration of Earth Day, PBS will air the Academy Award-nominated documentary Food Inc., on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 9 p.m.
If you haven’t heard of Food, Inc., yet, it’s a documentary that examines the influence of corporate entities and government agencies on U. S. food production.
The film is filled with mistruths and misrepresentations. According to the film, “Our nation’s food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, and the safety of workers and our environment.” The message that organic is the only sure choice is drilled home in the movie.
The airing of the film could prompt questions from friends, family or neighbors.
