Gold Dust Dairy near Green Bay, Wis., has reportedly agreed to pay $80,000 in penalties, costs and assessments to settle a pollution lawsuit.

In June 2008, the state Department of Natural Resources and the Brown County Land Conservation Department saw manure seeping over the top of one of Gold Dust’s two manure pits, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

“Gold Dust’s second manure pit also was above its safe operating level,” the article said.

The DNR reportedly documented environmental violations at the dairy.
