Grow milk consumption with functional foods

According to an article in the May issue of Dairy Foods, the way to increase milk consumption is through innovation. And the way to innovate is to view milk as a base or carrier for good-for-you ingredients to create functional foods and beverages.

Although milk is a nutritional beverage all by itself, consumers today are looking for quick fixes, and promises to protect their family’s health. That means we must shed milk’s image as a commodity product and embrace the use of trendy names and functional claims to reach consumers and boost sales.
