Hay bales valued at $30,000 have been stolen from fields in Maricopa County, Ariz., over the past few months.

According to Jeannette Fish, executive director of the Maricopa County Farm Bureau, the hay thefts are taking place at night or in the early morning.

A recent article in the Western Farm Press indicates that 50 thefts of hay bales have been reported by seventeen different hay growers. One theft reported was 200 bales from one person in one night.

Any thefts or suspicious activities should be reported to local law enforcement.
