The Minidoka County Planning and Zoning Commission has designated two more agriculture-high areas to the county zoning map. These are areas where 1000-cow plus dairies would be allowed to locate.

The commission doesn’t want to discourage dairies from locating in the county, but it does want to control where within the county they set up shop.

The commission made the changes after receiving public input that too many parcels of land that were appropriate for large-scale dairies were blocked because of their designation as agriculture-medium areas.
