Is the cheese market subject to price manipulation? Apparently enough people are concerned that it can be so the situation is being investigated.

Earlier this month six U.S. senators sent a letter to the General Accountability Office asking it to determine if cheese trading on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange is susceptible to price manipulation. The senators include Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), Russ Feingold (D-Wis.), Arlen Specter (R-Pa.), Herb Kohl (D-Wis.), Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), and James Jeffers (I-Vt.) In addition, an article at Pizzamarketplace.com cites an investigation being conducted by the Commodities Futures Trading Commission. The analysis article looks at the history of cheese trading as well as how the market has performed since the cheese trade moved to the Chicago Mercantile in October 1997.  To read this article, go to: http://www.pizzamarketplace.com/article.php?id=5467
