What was once one of the largest dairies in the country, Johnson Dairy of Eaton, Colo., is culling most of its cows under the Cooperatives Working Together program.
That’s according to the Northern Colorado Business Report. Officials of the CWT program are not at liberty to discuss the specifics of the case.
It is not clear which round of the CWT program Johnson Dairy is participating in. So far this year, there have been two rounds — one announced in April that is expected to remove 103,000 cows and one announced in July that is expected to remove 87,000 cows.
