Kraft cheese plants use biogas to cut fuel cost

Two New York Kraft cheese plants are using digesters to turn whey into biogas energy. This should reduce natural gas purchases by about 33 percent. The plants will also reduce hauling expenses and carbon dioxide emissions associated with waste removal.
