If all goes as planned, Aurora Organic Dairy will have a new 3,200-cow organic dairy with daily access to pasture up and producing certified organic milk by next fall.

Aurora Organic Dairy, which already has organic dairies in Colorado and in Texas with an all-organic milk plant in Colorado,  has reached a deal with the Cockroft families of Kersey, Colo. to lease their 800-acre farm and build a dairy there. More than 85 percent of the total acres will be used to provide organic pasture for cows year round.

The High Plains Organic Dairy will have a comprehensive environmental sustainability master plan.
