On Friday, the LenaweeCounty (Mich.) Road Commission voted to file suit against Verba-Hoff Dairy for approximately $177,000 in damage to MedinaTownship roads. The commission contends that the road was damaged by heavy equipment from the dairy while hauling manure during the spring thaw.

According to the article in The Daily Telegram, the commission had contacted the dairy, asking them to pay for the damage caused to the road, but received no response. Due to liability issues from the condition of the road, the commissioners have decided to fix the road and file suit to reclaim the out-of-pocket expense.

A spokesperson for the dairy told The Daily Telegram that the dairy has been cooperating with the road commission and is seeking estimates from private contractors for the cost of road repairs. To learn more, go to: http://www.lenconnect.com/articles/2007/06/16/news/news01.txt
