New construction of manure storage systems, as well as manure application and management, are just two highlights of the Livestock Manure Management Conference workshops sponsored by the University of Illinois and set for March in Effingham and Princeton, Illinois.

Other topics include an update on current regulations, the new ranking system for EQIP funding, the latest research and practical applications on controlling odors, and manure storage system safety.  In Princeton, the producer panel will feature two commercial composters, as well as a farmer who has been desludging a lagoon.  In Effingham, the producer panel will discuss innovative pricing arrangements for manure, and manure management strategies.

Each workshop will also host a trade show that features approximately a dozen vendors who offer the latest in manure management equipment and services.

The manure management workshops will be held March 13, 2007 at the KellerConvention Center in Effingham and March 15, 2007 at the BureauCountyMetroCenter in Princeton. The workshop costs $30, with registration beginning at 8:15 a.m. and the first session starting at 9 a.m.  Lunch will be provided and the workshops will adjourn at 3:45 p.m.
