Massive beef recall

Fresno, Calif., based Beef Packers, Inc. has recalled approximately 825,769 pounds of ground beef that may be linked to an outbreak of the drug-resistant Newport Salmonella strain in Colorado, reports KTVU.com.

According to the report, the ground beef was produced June 5 – June 23, 2009. Recalled beef products contain the establishment number “EST. 31913.” Products were sold in Arizona, California, Colorado and Utah.
