Last week, Rep. David Obey, (D-Wis.) successfully inserted a provision to extend the Milk Income Loss Contact program into the $124 billion emergency war spending bill for Iraq. The proposed funding for the MILC program totals $283 million.

The full House is expected to take action this week on the bill which details not only funding for the war, but includes a timeline to bring troops home. The bill faces a much tougher challenge in the Senate.
