Based on current price projections, Milk Income Loss Contract payments should resume in January. According to estimates from the National Milk Producers Federation, the January payment is projected to be about 86 cents per hundredweight. However, March and April could be the peak months to cash in on the MILC program, with payments climbing to about $1.06 per hundredweight.

If you produce more than 2.4 million pounds of milk annually, you might want to select March as your start month.
